An incredible journey following the true essence of the tropical island's attractions - ancient cities (cultural triangle), temples, ruins, cultural sites, Ella City, scenic beaches, adventures and wildlife.
We were extremely fortunate to meet Mr. Susandha da Silva from our hotel Royal Palms Beach who was looking for a travel guide for a trip to the town of Kalutara. On this day he showed us the sights (temples etc.) on a TukTuk ride through the city. He was able to tell us a lot about the history and culture in Sri Lanka.
At the end of this tour he made us an offer for a three day tour. On the first day we went from Kalutara via Kandy to Ramboda Falls in the mountains of Sri Lanka, where we stayed in a very good hotel right next to the waterfall. The day was full of real highlights, be it the close encounter with elephants, which we were allowed to feed and wash in the river, be it the visit to the Temple of the Tooth in Kandy or the informative visit to a tea factory.
On the second day we continued through a beautiful landscape
past waterfalls to Bandarawela, where we took a historic train to Ella and were able to view the landscape in the open panoramic car. In the evening, a visit to the Kataragama Perahera Festival was actually on the agenda. Unfortunately, we had to stop because of the heavy crowds because we were afraid of being crushed by the masses.
The third day started early in the morning with a game drive to Yala National Park, where we were able to marvel at Sri Lanka's diverse wildlife.
On the way back we made a stop in Galle to visit the old town and the fortifications from the colonial era.
In the evening we arrived back at our hotel tired, but enriched by a variety of impressions.
During all these days, Mr. Susandha has devotedly taken care of our well-being. He planned this trip comprehensively and was always there to help and advise us.
We would like to thank him again for an unforgettable experience in his beautiful homeland with its extremely kind and courteous people.
I can only highly recommend Mr. Susandha and his work! He is absolutely trustworthy and concerned about the well-being of his guests.
Many kind regards Markus, Arek and Birgit

We had a wonderful 3 day trip with Mr. Susantha from SKS Lanka Tours. From a visit to the elephants, a tea factory, temple complexes, a visit to the temple with Buddah's tooth relic, Ramboda Falls, Nuywara Ellis, the highest point in Sri Lanka, a train ride, a safari around Yala National Park, Fort in Galle, everything was there to get a great overview to get this country and the culture.
We told Mr. Susantha at the beginning what we were interested in and what we wanted to see and he organized this tour for us and ran it.
He has a lot of knowledge and can impart it. The accommodation including food was also highly recommended.
All in all, highly recommended, great value for money

We spent the day on an amazing tour of the north of Sri Lanka, honestly had the best day and met the most amazing warm friend people.
Would definitely recommend,

Our family have just returned from Kalutara, Sri Lanka (Sept 2023). We were lucky enough to meet Susantha, a local, knowledgeable guide who can tailor make escorted tours, daytrips, airport runs, and much more.
If you are looking to explore the island, want to go sightseeing and see magical, true Sri Lanka, Susantha is an experienced guide, and trustworthy guy who we can highly recommend.
You will be collected from your hotel, in a comfortable van, by a lovely friendly driver. We spent 4 full days with Susantha, on two separate 2 day tours.
Our first tour was to the South of the island. Highlights included an early morning River Cruise in Beruwala, which was tranquil and enjoyable, with a chance to see baby crocs.
Yala National Park was approx 3 hours in a jeep, with a guide, where we were lucky enough to spot wild elephants, a leopard, crocodiles, warthogs, buffalo and peacocks, sadly no bears that day. Turtle Beach was definitely worth a visit, where you can paddle in the sea with large turtles, lovely experience, amazing creatures! A favourite with our family, was also the Turtle Sanctuary which works hard to rescue and protect injured turtles, and release back into the sea, baby hatched turtles.
Also visited places of interest for photo stops 'Stick Fisherman' and Coconut Beach, stunning viewpoint.
Our second tour was a totally different experience, exploring the inland, mountainous area of Kandy, including an hour and a half train journey from Ella (tourist area with cafes and shops).
Highlights included visiting Asela Elephant Sanctuary, where you can ride(on a mat, not framed, thankfully) bathe in the river and feed melon to the elephants. Children really enjoyed this memorable day. Other places of interest, Temple of the Tooth, full insight to the customs of the Buddhist faith.
Beautiful waterfall photo stops in the Ramboda hillside.
Botanical Gardens, beautiful place with a variety of flowers and trees. Plus a visit to Damro tea factory, with a complimentary local tea to finish.
Susantha will look after you, please do not hesitate to put your trust in this family business, who will provide you with a personal, memorable experience. You will not only have a wonderful tour guide, but will gain a friend! He went out of his way to please us, nothing was too much trouble, even stopping at the local supermarket and food takeaways on the way back to the hotel.
Thank you and take care Susantha x

We were on a one-day trip with our family, during which we had the pleasure of seeing waterfalls, Adam's Peak, the Nine Arch Bridge, taking a train ride, seeing a tea plantation, visiting a tea factory, admiring wild animals, and riding and feeding an elephant. The trip took place in a very nice atmosphere. On-time pickup straight from the hotel in a very comfortable bus. Susantha is verbal and trustworthy. We recommend his trips with a clear conscience. Thank you and see you soon!
